Brief Intervention and Treatment for Elders
February 2007
The Florida Brief Intervention and Treatment for Elders (BRITE) Project is an innovative, multi-site program designed to identify and serve adults ages 55 and older with problems related to: alcohol, prescription medication, over-the-counter medication, and illicit drug use. It is based on a model of Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral and Treatment (SBIRT) and is funded by a $14 million grant from the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the Florida Department of Children and Families Substance Abuse Program Office (DCF/SAPO).
